This initiative is being developed in partnership with Fairtrade International and the Kédougou cooperative in southeast Senegal. The region grows highquality cotton through an environment-friendly process that uses only rainwater. L’Oréal buys the cotton at a price that ensures additional income for growers. In 2015, L’Oréal Professionnel, the first brand to join the partnership, bought 62 tonnes of this cotton to make bath towels that the brand gives to its hairdresser clients. More than 500 cotton farmers in Kédougou benefited from this programme.
