India: Sludge-drying To Reduce Waste

As early as in 2014, some of L’Oréal’s plants, equipped with on-site wastewater treatment facilities, implemented projects to dry wastewater, either via the heat recovery of sludge or via solar energy.

Thanks to a solar sledge-drying installation, the L’Oréal plant in Jabakeba (Indonesia) thus reduced the tonnage of waste sludge by about 80% between 2014 and 2015, thus helping reduce the environmental impact of its downstream transport and treatment operations.
