L’Oréal China: L’Oréal’s First Market to Achieve Renewable Energy For All ts Sites
In 2019, the L’Oréal Suzhou plant in China became the second renewable energy plant within the Group’s APAC zone after the Yichang plant, which had reached this milestone in 2018.
In January 2018, Suzhou had signed a “Carbon Neutral” agreement with Suzhou Industrial Park in the presence of Mr. Shan Zhong, Chinese Minister of Commerce, Mr. Bruno Le Maire, French Minister of Economy and Mr. Jean-Yves Le Drian, French Foreign Minister. The Suzhou plant started the construction of a CHP (Combined Heat and Power) facility, to produce electricity and heat on site with high efficiency. The successful completion of CHP project enables Suzhou plant to become carbon neutral in June 2019.
Having reached this important milestone, China became L’Oréal’s 1st market to complete carbon-neutrality across the operation sites covering plants, distribution centers, research and innovation center and offices.
