As our proactive goals and commitments to contribute to a more sustainable and inclusive future have continued to mature, they transformed into our standard for our way of working – and, ultimately, into policies for ourselves and our partners.

This evolution reflects our long-standing commitment to sustainability and allows us to leverage our unique position to drive real change. These policies now define our fundamental principles and standard operating procedures, complementing and reinforcing our
L’Oréal for the Future commitments to guide how we do business.

Forest & Land Policy

In 2020, L’Oréal defined a 2030 Forest Policy, to extend the scope and depth of our actions for sustainable forest management, with a focus on human rights and improved living conditions for local communities.

Water Policy

L’Oréal has committed for years to ensure contribution to high water quality and sustainable water quality across all its value chain and throughout the communities we serve and operate in.

Climate & Energy Policy

For more than 20 years, we have worked to reduce the CO2 emissions linked to our industrial activity. To achieve this, we improved energy efficiency across all our facilities, increased the use of local renewable energy wherever possible and achieved the targets defined for the sites without carbon offsetting projects.

Environmental Product Design Policy

For over 15 years, we have continuously worked to reduce the environmental footprint of our products, using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) as the reference for product impact evaluation. This policy outlines our principles of action for designing more responsible products.

Human Rights Policy

Our Human Rights Policy is grounded in our Code of Ethics, particularly its 4 Ethical Principles - INTEGRITY, RESPECT, COURAGE, and TRANSPARENCY and reflects our commitment in line with following international norms and standards.
