L’Oréal Groupe is recognized for its long-term commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion with several top scores in the 2024 Disability Equality Index®, a leading benchmark developed by Disability:IN.
In this year’s edition, L’Oréal USA achieved the maximum score of 100 for the seventh consecutive year. The 2024 edition was a turning point as the Index opened to countries outside of the United States for the first time. As a result, L’Oréal Brazil and L’Oréal UK obtained scores of 100 and 85, respectively. All three countries have therefore been recognized as “Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion” in 2024.
Disability inclusion is crucial to fostering a truly accepting work environment. An estimated 1.3 billion people globally live with some form of disability, representing 16% of the world’s population[1]. 80% of disabilities are acquired between the ages of 18 and 64 – the workforce age[2]. Disability crosses all demographics – including age, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic and multicultural origins.
Hence, the Group has been committed for the past 20 years to actions in favor of physical, mental, and social well-being for our employees, our consumers, and our communities.
Specifically, L’Oréal is committed to accelerating the inclusion of people with disabilities by addressing both visible and invisible disabilities, mental health, chronic illness, and neurodiversity. The Group sets a minimum target of direct employment in all countries where it operates and aims to create impact internally and externally for all stakeholders, by breaking stigmas and fostering accessibility.
Participating in the Disability Equality Index across several countries reinforces L’Oréal’s strategic commitment to promote inclusive workplaces within the Group, providing a benchmark to track progress over time and set concrete, measurable goals for the future.
