L’Oréal Reinforces Support For LGBTQIA+ Rights, Joining Open For Business

A coalition of global businesses that aims to advance LGBTQIA+ rights globally

L’Oréal is proud to become a member of Open for Business, a coalition of global businesses that aims to advance LGBTQIA+ rights globally.

Launched in 2015, the Open for Business coalition is developing unique research perspectives on the economic and business case for LGBTQIA+ inclusion.
Open for Business works with their coalition partners and civil society partners to create a global consensus that LGBTQIA+ inclusion is also an economic and business issue. This helps build momentum for LGBTQIA+ rights around the world and gives groundcover to businesses operating in markets where these issues are sensitive. Open for Business also facilitates local networks of senior business leaders to advance LGBTQIA+ inclusion, all over the world.

As a global company doing business on every continent, L’Oréal does not tolerate any kind of discrimination against LGBTQIA+ employees and has long been committed to do all we can to help to create a more inclusive environment for the LGBTQ+ community everywhere, namely through our Employee Human Rights policy and Diversity & Inclusion commitments.

Promoting equality at the workplace

Starting in 2018, L’Oréal was one of the first companies to officially support the Standards of Conduct introduced by the United Nations to combat the discrimination faced by the LGBTQIA+ community. These standards go beyond fair employment practices and are designed to foster overall social change.

In 2020, several major subsidiaries expanded their paid parental leave for fathers and co-parents to at least 6 weeks, an objective that will be maintained in 2021 for all of our subsidiaries as part of the Share & Care program. At a local level, the Group supports numerous practical projects that aim to raise awareness among employees and to promote equality at the workplace.
