In 2017, for the first time, Garnier, the L’Oréal Group’s 2nd brand, committed to support UNICEF’s efforts to provide aid to children in humanitarian crisis situations. This financial contribution will fund the creation of safe spaces and provide roughly 5,600 emergency kits to assist 300,000 children.

These UNICEF safe spaces, known as Child-Friendly Spaces, serve as outreach points to contact the most seriously affected people in crisis situations. UNICEF also uses them to provide psychological support, medical care, nutrition advice, and educational activities, as well as drinking water, food, and access to hygiene.

These spaces, which are now funded by Garnier, are gathering places for children who have been separated from their families, and provide a safe setting where children can regain a sense of normalcy. Garnier’s support will go towards providing essential supplies, educational materials, and toys.

At Garnier, we believe that sharing and connections to others mean giving a hand to those in need. Our goal is to help the most vulnerable children feel safe and regain self-confidence, something which is essential to create genuine connections with those around them

says Delphine Viguier, CEO of Garnier International.

Garnier and UNICEF’s common values of sharing and human relationships are building a partnership to help the most vulnerable children. Today, close to a quarter of children worldwide live in regions which are facing a humanitarian crisis, live in poverty, are particularly vulnerable to violence and exploitation, and are often under-fed and unable to attend school.
